Notes for users of Outlook Express

Because the Outlook Express e-mail client provides a very limited range of filter functions, it is not possible to filter e-mails - categorised by eXpurgate - using the standard information added to the header by eXpurgate in order to transfer incoming e-mails into different folders, depending on the e-mail type.

To redress this situation, you can arrange for the result of the eXpurgate check to be written in a header for which Outlook Express provides filter options, e.g. in the e-mail's subject line.

The subject line of a Spam e-mail, once it has been categorised by eXpurgate, could then look something like this:

        [Spam]: BIG Discounts !!!
